  • Full membership - £220 Includes two adults and their children, if any, under 18 years of age and still living at home. Any children between 18 and 21 and still in full time education should be added as student members. (see below for prices)

      • Associate membership - £115 covers individuals or families who do not own a boat, but wish to use the club's facilities or sail on a boat belonging to another member.
      • Student membership - £10  covers those between 18 and 21 years of age, whose parents or guardians are members the club, and who can satisfy the General Committee that they are in full time education.

Important Membership Information

Membership subscription becomes due upon receipt of the renewal notice sent out in early January each year, and should be received not later than 28th February.

Late renewals - the club cannot guarantee that moorings or boat places will be available for members whose subscriptions are received after 28th February.

Members whose subscriptions are not received by the 31st March will be deleted from the register of paid up members and only re-instated on payment of the current subscription, plus any outstanding fees, and plus the current joining fee of £70.

The Club does not allow slip and retrieve. All boats are moored on deep water swinging moorings. There are no permanent marina berths.

The club moorings are let on a yearly basis from April 1st to the following March 31st and club members may use their craft on the water all year round if they wish.

Moorings are allocated during march to fully paid up members.

Those members who held moorings during the previous season will generally be allocated the same moorings unless specific requests to the contrary are received. Such requests should be noted in the appropriate place on the subscription renewal form.

New members taking up moorings late in the season may be allocated a different mooring for the following season.

Launch and Haul Out
An assisted launch / haul out service using the club tractor is a available to members, including one free launch and haul-out each season. Launching usually takes place over two weekend in April, and haul-out over two weekends in October. Launch / haul-out dates are notified to members well in advance and members then book their dates.

A launch or haul-out requested at any other time will incur a fee.

Rescue services
No rescue services operate on the lake, and members must make their own decisions, as to the suitability of weather conditions, bearing in mind their own competence and that of their crew.

Overnight on the lake
Free swinging moorings have been laid in sheltered spots round the lake for picnic stops and temporary over-night use by members.

Sailing is not allowed during the hours of darkness. This is a Northumbrian Water regulation.

The person in charge of a yacht must be a paid up member of the Club. Visitors and guests are welcome to accompany members up to six times a season, after that we request they become members.

All craft must be covered by third party insurance to a minimum sum of £2,000,000
